Connie Schultz Liked My Post
We all have our heroes…and we are all groupies to someone, whether we like to admit it or not. One of my heroes is Connie Schultz, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author, journalism professor and fellow Substack writer, who hails from my part of Ohio, Ashtabula County. Oh yeah, she’s also married to US Senator from Ohio, Sherrod Brown. You might see the signs about her as you enter the City of Ashtabula.
We’ve never met…at least in person, but I’ve been a big fan of hers since the 1990s, when she was writing a column for the “Cleveland Plain Dealer” and started talking about the rights of restaurant servers. I just happened to be a server then and she championed a cause few people were discussing at the time. Today, her Substack page and social media pages are a master class on how to use social media with grace, humor and patience, while still attracting tens of thousands of friends and followers.
Last month, I posted about my new book, “Historic Churches of Ashtabula County” coming out in November….and, CONNIE SCHULTZ LIKED MY POST! My feet haven’t hit the ground yet. (You’re never too old to be a groupie.)
Thank you, Connie!
